Rigged 5.8 and ahd. First out and was pleased with my performance. Gybing well on the outside, and always waiting for a swell to do it on, makes a BIG diference. On way back in, bottom turning well on the tiny waves, caught knee once and am leaving the top turn too late. need to change rail earlier. gybing well on the inside: flipping the rig earlier really helping. Still need to go earlier I think.
had a go at a backloop off a tiny wave. It was never going to work, but forcefully pulled the nose round and got it to contact the water first. Massive back splat followed. Ouch. Tried twice more and will have to give it a go in proper waves.
Took my new purchase - f2 lightning raceboard out during a lull (5.8 sail). Lots of fun with no footstraps, and the ability to plane past the blubbing shortboarders.
4 hours sailing. Felt really fit after a hard week
